Having practiced in Raleigh since 1991, I learned long ago of the quality care at WIMC, the knowledgeable and caring people, doctors, and staff who are there (here?). The same qualities that I think I carry, and strive for in my own practice are exemplified at WIMC: empathy and caring, top notch current knowledge of medical issues, and high levels of expectations of work and pride in things done well.
I am passionate about listening to my patients, and guiding and understanding and working with them, as if they were my brother or sister or family member. My professional interests are to stay on top of the exciting, and fast advancing discoveries and therapeutics that are appearing every day in medicine and Rheumatology . I enjoy what I realized and saw so much during the pandemic, when very few patients missed any appointments and treatments with me: that mobility and ability on a daily basis are so important to us all, and that my ability to assist people in those motivates me.
My practice style and ideology center around the concepts that I am a guide who can listen and help decide WITH you, and not just decide FOR you, the best options in your musculoskeletal and immunologic wellness issues in your life. At this point in my career, my ongoing and future goals at WIMC are to continue the standards and quality that I know WIMC and myself have both had for the last 3+ decades for our good community. Also, to help establish rheumatology at WIMC and expand much needed services in the specialty for our area.
My hobbies outside of work include wrestling, ball, and hiking with golden doodle Tucker, hiking (NOT wrestling, ball) with spouse Beth, yoga and working out, biking, tennis, and reading.
