Dr. Michael Kleinman first attended Emory University before continuing his education at University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. From there, he completed his residency at University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Throughout his career, he has earned the AOA and Gold Humanism Honor Society awards and is a member of the Association of Med Peds Physicians, and the National Med Peds Program Directors Association.
As an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med Peds) trained physician, Dr. Kleinman loves that he gets to take care of so many different people from all areas of life and across the entire age spectrum. He is particularly passionate about the care of young adults with medical complexities as they age out of what would be traditional pediatric practices.
After a long career in Academic Medicine, Dr. Kleinman was excited to work for an independent, physician-owned practice with deep roots to the community. As part of his practice ideology, he enjoys partnering with patients and families to help them achieve their health goals. By practicing evidence-based medicine, while also keeping in mind that each patient requires their individual needs, Med Peds allows him to have a longitudinal relationship and experience all of life’s highs and lows with his patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Kleinman loves spending time with his wife and two kids. They especially enjoy travelling, with the Blue Ridge Mountains being a favorite. He is an avid tennis player, but follows various sports, especially NFL, NBA, and MLB (but is also excited to become more of a hockey fan now; Go Canes!). Dr Kleinman is also active in the local Jewish community and serves on the Health Advisory Board at Blue Star Camps for Boys and Girls.
