She completed her residency at Duke/SR-AHEC in Fayetteville. She is a member of the America Association of Family Physicians and the North Carolina Association of Family Physicians.
Dr. Vaikunth is excited to be part of the Wake Internal Medicine team and to continue taking care of patients in the local area. Prior to joining WIMC, she worked at the Wake County public health department, Duke Primary Care, Doctors Making Housecalls, and Avance Care.
Part of what Dr. Vaikunth enjoys most about primary care is the continuity and breadth of care, including seeing different members of the same family and fostering long lasting physician-patient relationships. Her professional interests lie in preventive health, adolescent health, and women’s health. Dr. Vaikunth’s practice style is patient-centered medical care. She believes in meeting patients where they are while also empowering them to make guided and informed decisions regarding their health.
Outside of work, Dr. Vaikunth enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and friends. She enjoys cooking, painting, board games, and being outdoors, especially at the beach.
