RE: BCBS Blue Value Plan
Dear WIMC Patient,
Every year, insurance companies can make changes to their plans and coverage options they offer. We feel it’s important that you review your choices and understand that your physician may not be participating with your choice. Please be aware that the prescription benefits change also.
Effective January 1, 2017, Wake Internal Medicine and all of it’s divisions will not be in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Blue Value plan.
What does this mean?
BCBS Blue Value will be considered out-of-network, which means higher out-of-pocket costs for you.
WIMC will be in network with all BCBS plans except BCBS Blue Value.
If you choose to stay with Blue Value, we can continue your care, but your out-of-pocket costs will be higher. You will be asked to pay in full at the time of service and will be reimbursed directly by BCBS Blue Value.
You can visit HealthCare.gov to look at other Marketplace plans. The only marketplace option that WIMC will be in network with is BCBS Local.
We realize that some of our patients with Blue Value plans already have appointments and procedures scheduled for the new year. If you do have an appointment or procedure scheduled and you keep the Blue Value plan, please be aware that you will be asked to pay in full at the time of service. If you have any questions about your policy, please contact the number provided on your insurance card or 888-206-4697. If you need to make an appointment or reschedule an existing appointment, please call (919)-781-7500.
