Dr. Barish joined Wake Internal Medicine in 1985. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He has authored and co-authored articles regarding gastrointestinal disorders in numerous medical journals and books. Lori divides her time between providing acute medical care in the urgent care and providing consultations as a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant. She provides an array of services including diabetes education, smoking cessation, weight loss counseling and heart healthy eating plans. Lori focuses on both preventive care and reversal of disease processes through well balanced eating plans and moderate physical activity. She encourages reduction of high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils while increasing whole grains, lean meats, produce and low-fat dairy.
